Blake was born in Rockford on Sept. 21, 1983, the son of Craig and Judy Belk. His father is Kenneth Evans. He married Shannon Sherwood in Kentucky on Aug. 6, 2005.
Blake played football while he was a student at Auburn High before he transferred to Guilford High. He joined the military and hoped both to further his education and make the military his career.
Blake is survived by wife, Shannon; daughters, Adriana and Kylee; parents, Craig and Judy Belk; brother, Scott Evans; mothers-in-law, Peggy Huaracha of Kentucky and Susan Sweitzer; nana, Marion DiGiovanni; paternal grandparents, Bob and Mary Belk; several aunts, uncles and cousins; his extended military family and canine companions, Bella, Gracie and Zoie.
U.S. Army Sgt. Blake Evans was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart.
