Chris was born in Brunswick GA on August 19,1977, to Mary Jo & Jim Holland. His sister, Amanda was 22 months older than him. He attended St Francis Xavier Catholic School and graduated from Brunswick High School. He graduated from Valdosta State University with a degree in Business Management.

Growing up on the coast of Georgia, Chris loved the beach, but after graduating from college he decided to move to Colorado. After being there for a couple years he went back home and made the decision to join the U.S. Army.

After completing Boot Camp at Ft Leonard Wood, Chris went to Ft Sam Houston to complete AIT and became a Combat Medic. He was assigned to Battery A, 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Division based in Smith Barracks, in Baumholder, Germany, supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Chris was 26 years old when he was killed In Baghdad, Iraq, while part of a dismounted patrol. His unit was ambushed with small arms fire on December 17, 2003. Chris’ Memorial Service was held at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church In Brunswick in December 23 and he was buried in Arlington National Cemetery on December 30.

Chris had the greatest smile and the best laugh! He was the most loyal friend you could ever ask for. He maintained friendships from Kindergarten and elementary school throughout his short 26 years. Chris is deeply loved and forever missed by his family and friends.
