During his years of service he deployed 3 times to the Middle East as a soldier in the Global War on Terror, twice to Iraq and once to Afghanistan. Chief Balli was recognized for his unfaltering love and devotion to his family and country.

“Edward was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. His infectious humor and quirky personality will be deeply missed. Edward meant the world to us and will forever be in our hearts. While serving at FOB Pasab he was always concerned for the welfare of his Soldiers. Edward would often ask his family to send certain snacks because one of guys liked it. He cared about his Soldiers and mentored many throughout his career. We will cherish all the memories Edward have left us with and will remember him as a true patriot who gave the ultimate sacrifice for his country. Our thoughts and prayers are with all remaining Soldiers for your safe return home.”- Kristy Balli (Wife of CW2 Balli)
