Jeanette Thomas Dunn was born in the Bronx, New York to the proud parents Winifred Thomas and Robert McKinley on Feb 21, 1962; she was the youngest of 4 girls.

Jeanette attended school in the Bronx and Long Island, she moved back to the Bronx and attended Job Corps, and from there she joined the US Army, also while in the Army she attended college. During her last tour with the US Army she met Michael Dunn and they were married and relocated to the southern United States to set up a home. Jeanette gave birth to two beautiful girls named Shara and Ayla.

Jeanette was a US Army Sergeant and spent most of her adult life in the US Army. She touched many lives in many ways and she will be missed. Jeanette was a very loving, caring and a giving person, who put others first. She was generous in giving and asked for very little in return.

She leaves behind to mourn two daughters: Shara and Ayla, two sisters: Winifred and Pamela, and niece: Kim and nephews David, Wilfred, Kevin, Dwayne, Keith and Jahmil . She is also leaves behind a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jeannette T. Dunn, 44, of the Bronx, New York, died of a noncombat-related injury November 26, 2006 in Taji, Iraq, north of Baghdad. She was assigned to the 15th Sustainment Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division as a wheeled vehicle mechanic, at Ft. Hood, Texas. Services for Jeannette were held at St Augustine Presbyterian Church in Bronx and burial followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
