Kirk was a true warrior, friend, and brother. He was a member of the “Rock Snipers” with Lance Corporal Peterson being the other member; lurking in the dark and picking off their targets unexpectedly. Kirk was always dependable to be there to help you out with anything you needed. He was as strong as an ox on the outside and inside. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about him and Peterson. God bless The Rock Snipers- you will be forever missed!

To the Family of Lance Corporal Johnathan E. Kirk, You are in my thoughts and prayers as you cope with the loss of your loved one. Please know that I understand your pain as I have been where you are. Lance Corporal Kirk served with 2d CEB as did my son. They didn’t know each other, but they were Marine brothers. They now are on duty guarding the streets of Heaven. I extend to you the heartfelt sympathies of my family, at your great loss. Father of Lance Corporal Andrew J. Johnathan was a close friend in high school. I never meet anyone like him. He had the most energy of anyone I have every meet. I think back to the great times we had in high school. Going out on the boat everyday after school or just hanging out. I will never forget you or what you did for me and every other American. God Bless you Johnathan. Rest in peace.
