Kirk was a true warrior, friend, and brother. He was a member of the “Rock Snipers” with Lance Corporal Peterson being the other member; lurking in the dark and picking off their targets unexpectedly. Kirk was always dependable to be there to help you out with anything you needed. He was as strong as an ox on the outside and inside. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about him and Peterson. God bless The Rock Snipers- you will be forever missed!

To the Family of Lance Corporal Johnathan E. Kirk, You are in my thoughts and prayers as you cope with the loss of your loved one. Please know that I understand your pain as I have been where you are. Lance Corporal Kirk served with 2d CEB as did my son. They didn’t know each other, but they were Marine brothers. They now are on duty guarding the streets of Heaven. I extend to you the heartfelt sympathies of my family, at your great loss.

Johnathan was a close friend in high school. I never meet anyone like him. He had the most energy of anyone I have every meet. I think back to the great times we had in high school. Going out on the boat everyday after school or just hanging out. I will never forget you or what you did for me and every other American. God Bless you Johnathan. Rest in peace. I dont know if people still follow this but I feel as though I should still leave this message. I was with him the day he was injured and provided aid to him until we reached Fallujah surgical. I have been dealing with the death of Lcpl’s Kirk and Peterson for 6 years now. I am reaching out to the family for contact.

Sgt Kenyon – I’m not part of Kirk’s family, but I’m Dale’s sister. Feel free to email or call me anytime and maybe I can help get you in contact with Kirk’s family too.

There is not a day that goes by that I don’t miss Kirk and Petey. They were not only my squad mates, but also my friends. I was their fire team leader, and on a different mission that night. I will never forget that night when I got back from my mission and received the news. I will never forget how the entire platoon hurt for them. They were truly loved like brothers by us all. This is the first time I’ve spoken of them aloud. Everyday I remember them. Two of not only the best Marines, but also the best people I’ve ever met. My thoughts are with you all.

  4. Wanted to leave a message here for family and friends of Lcpl’s Kirk. I joined a team called Ruck to Remember on a 60 mile journey current Soldiers, Veterans, and patriots to honor and remember our fallen soldiers on Memorial Day Weekend. Tried to locate his parents with no luck. So I am leaving this message in hopes to get more info about this soldier so I can tell his story of valor. Please contact me at 781-308-0965 or tuere28@hotmail.com. I salute…all gave some and some gave all!
    God Bless!
