U.S. AIR FORCE

08/14/2018, HOUSTON, TX

Lee Edward Morton of Houston was born January 17, 1983 in Houston to Hubert Atkins Morton and Marilyn Morton.

Lee served in the U. S. Air Force and was a loving son, brother and fiancee. Lee left an impression on everyone he met. He never met a stranger and had a heart bigger than Texas. Lee’s blue eyes sparkled and his smile brought warmth and comfort.

“On August 14th my brother Lee passed away after a long battle with addiction. My family and I are raising money in Lee’s memory to benefit Oxford House INC. Oxford House provides transitional living for people that are on the road to recovery from drugs and alcohol. It was instrumental in my recovery and Lee’s as well. It opens its doors to many people that are struggling with all kinds of dependency issues. Lee was very passionate about the things he loved and Oxford House had a very special place in his heart. Thank you all so much for your support and outpouring love for my family and I.” Jay Morton

A friend’s thoughts: A precious little boy from a wonderful family. Thank you for growing into a man that chose to defend his country and thus pay the price of the emotional brutality of doing so. God bless you and those that grieve your loss. Brenda Hendlmyer

The following are messages from the Guest Book of Lee Morton:

August 27, 2018 Lee was a great friend and will be missed by us at the VA hospital. He was a very generous man, who served his country with honor. Marilyn and Hugh, we are sorry for your loss…Adam and Shane Vets from the VA hospital, Houston, Texas

August 22, 2018 Marilyn, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I will keep your family in my prayers. He was an important part of your family and loved by many. I appreciate his service to our country. I feel that this quote by Peter Marshall says a lot. “The measure of a life, after all, is not its duration, but its donation.” Debbie Shepler Cypress, Texas
