Meadow Jade Pollack was born on October 5, 1999 in Long Island, New York. Meadow Pollack died February 14, 2018 in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida. She was 18.

“Everyone should know how great she was,” said Jake Maisner, her cousin who attends Florida State University. “She was a beautiful girl, inside and out.”

He said Meadow was the youngest of the family. She was 1 of 10 grandchildren. She is survived by her parents, Andrew Pollack and Shara Kaplan; her brothers Huck, 22, and Hunter, 29; and grandmother Evelyn Pollack, all of Parkland.

“She was the baby of the family. Everyone wanted to protect her,” Mr. Maisner said.

Meadow enjoyed spending time with her boyfriend.

“She was a good student,” adding that she was planning on attending Lynn University in Boca Raton after her high school graduation.

A friend, Gii Lovito, posted this message on Facebook early Thursday: “Please say a prayer for the family of an amazing girl I got to call my best friend growing up Meadow Pollack … her life was taken way too soon and I have no words to describe how this feels. Rest In Peace my beautiful angel you are and forever will be loved.”

Jake Maisner, said Meadow was “an incredible girl” who was cherished by her family. “There was lots of love,” he added.
