Melissa K. Moller

MSGT Melissa Kaye Moller was born in Dayton, Ohio, on May 9, 1977. She was the youngest of three children. MSGT Moller came from a military family.

Melissa learned to play the flute and clarinet in grade school. She was an excellent student. She enjoyed participating in various community activities. She liked entertaining her grandparents on Grandparents Day, volunteered for Breast Cancer walks, and played on different sports teams. She was a friend to most everyone.

After graduation in 1995 from high school, she worked a full time job and went to college part-time. Melissa enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to help her accelerate her goal of getting a college degree. She graduated from basic training on November 8, 1996. After basic training, she was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi for electronic training. Other postings included Travis AFB and Prince Sultan AFB in Saudi Arabia. She spent a year in Korea. She continued working towards her college degree doing online classes.

While stationed in Sumter, South Carolina at Shaw AFB in 2005, she met and married her husband, Allen Moller. Allen was also in the air force. Next, Melissa transferred to Davis-Monthan AFB. She was active as a volunteer for Breast Cancer walks, Special Olympics, and retirement and recognition programs.

Melissa did short time equipment installations in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as a rescue mission of civilians in Columbia. On April 29, 2010 her daughter Kayelen was born. Kayelen’s name is part of both mommy, Melissa Kaye, and daddy, Allen. Melissa also played Mrs. Santa Claus for Native American children while stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona, using an Apache helicopter to deliver gifts.
