Army Staff Sergeant Allen, an infantryman, was serving his 3rd deployment in the war on terror having deployed previously twice to Iraq. Allen was a victim of enemy forces that attacked his vehicle with an IED and small arms fire. Staff Sergeant Allen leaves behind his wife, Amy, and his three children. He graduated from Churchville-Chili High School, Churchville, NY in 1999. Allen was a member of the wrestling and football teams. SSG Allen enlisted in the US Army in May 2002. Allen had received more than 30 awards and decorations.

Staff Sergeant Allen’s name was entered into the Congressional Record on November 2, 2009 by Senator Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey who exclaimed: We cannot forget these men and women and their sacrifice. These brave souls left behind parents, spouses, children, siblings, and friends. We want them to know the country pledges to preserve the memory of our fallen soldiers who gave their lives for our country.
