Aaron M Kenefick

ROSWELL, GA, USA U.S. Marines GYSGT, 3D CAB, 3D MAR DIV, OKINAWA, JAPAN KUNAR PROVINCE, AFGHANISTAN 09/08/2009

My Son ,Gunnery Sergeant Aaron Michael Kenefick, was KIA in Afghanistan on September 8th, 2009. Aaron was 30 years old. He was my only Son yet I have two daughters who miss their big brother so much. Aaron was a Recon Marine, Special Forces. He was Marine of the year twice in his 12 year career, being awarded twice during the first 10 of his 12 years.

Aaron also served as an Attendee (body guard) for Former President George W Bush at the Republican National Convention a few years ago, and served as Aid to Generals at CENTOM in Tampa Fl, before transferring to 3rd Marine Battalion Okinawa Japan and being selected as one of their 21 Special Trainers in Afghanistan.

As fate would have it Aaron lost his life on the battle field in Kunar Province , Afghanistan as he and his team of 3 others were ambushed this day. My Son was awarded the Purple Heart two days prior as they battled the Taliban having received wounds to his arm from gun fire, he got back out there when 2 days later he was killed.

My Son was a Proud Marine, My Father was a Proud Marine, I am former Army. Our family has always stood by our beliefs for freedom and we are the repercussions of loss and an example that freedom has the highest price to pay.
