Brian was born on July 26, 1973 in Mesa, AZ to Larry and Linda Hobbs. After graduating from Red Mountain High School in 1992, he joined the Army.
In Dec. 1992, shortly after completing boot camp, he married his high school sweetheart, Jenny. Brian left the army in 1996, but after two years felt compelled to return to active duty and rejoined in January of 1999. He was one of those rare individuals who truly loved his job. He believed God made him a soldier.
He also had a passion for music. A writer of poetry and fiction, he was a founding member of the Scrivener’s Club. More importantly, he believed in Jesus his Savior. He possessed a strong faith, which he lived and shared in a way that was evident to everyone who met him.
Brian Hobbs had just returned to Afghanistan after a two-week leave with his family in Hawaii. He recently mentioned that he was ready to leave the military and become a history professor.
Brian is survived by his wife Jennifer, and three children, Briana, Jacob and Josiah; his parents, two sisters, Lisa (Todd) Graffa of Gold Canyon, and Andee (Chad) Pryor of Mesa.
His friends and family are very proud of his commitment to duty, and he will be greatly missed. He earned a Bronze (Star) and a Purple Heart.
