Carmen M. Schentrup

CORAL SPRINGS, FL, U.S.A.

STUDENT, MARJORY STONEMAN DOUGLAS, H.S., PARKLAND, FL

02/14/2018, PARKLAND, FL, U.S.A.

Carmen Marie Schentrup was born February 21, 2001.

Carmen was a beautiful, caring, talented, smart, and witty 16 year old.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and making others laugh. Carmen pushed herself to do her best in school, guitar, violin and piano, and learning new things, such as German. Carmen was one of the school’s 10 National Merit Scholar semifinalists.

She was involved in her church youth group, and different school clubs. Favorite past times were watching TV shows, guessing the endings to movies, and devouring books. Carmen also liked to travel, visit art museums, and help others.

Carmen was excited about graduating from Stoneman Douglas this June and attending either the University of Florida where she was accepted in the honors program, or the University of Washington. Her dreams were to become a medical scientist, find the cure for ALS, and make the world a better place.

Her parents, brother, sister, and all those who love her, miss her greatly, and wish she was still here.

Sending love and caring thoughts during this time of loss. Your daughter was a beautiful and gifted young soul whose time and place on earth will never be forgotten. Sincerely, Patricia Moxley
