U.S Marine CPL Bollman was the son of Harold Bollman of Des Plaines, IL and Mrs. Harriiet Bollman, Norridge, IL. He had three brothers, U.S. Army SPC 4/c Norman Bollman, U.S. Army PFC James Bollman, and Harold Bollman, and one sister.

CPL Bollman was a lifelong Norridge resident and Ridgewood High School graduate, class of 1964.

Donald Bollman enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on January 19, 1965. He was one of three brothers to serve in Vietnam. CPL Donald Warren Bollman was killed in action by small arms fire on March 1, 1967 while serving as a Rifleman.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
