PFC Edward Wesley Faulkner Jr. was born July 6, 1983 in Burlington, NC to Edward Wesley Faulkner Sr. and Sharon Austin Faulkner, both of the home and formerly of Rockbridge County, VA. He passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010.
He graduated from Western Alamance High School in 2002 and attended Alamance Community College. Ed was a member of First Baptist Church of Burlington.
Ed joined the United States Army in August 2005. His duty station was Fort Carson, Colorado. Ed deployed with his unit, and served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Because of injuries he received in battle he was awarded a Purple Heart in each of the Iraq and Afghanistan tours. Edward Wesley Faulkner Jr., was honorably discharged from his service to the United States of America.
He shall always be remembered for how much he could love, his concerns for the needy, and for his service to our country.
Ed is survived by his parents, a sister, brother-in-law and his niece. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He will always be remembered by his brothers-in-arms. Rest peacefully Ed.
His family asks that we “rejoice for he is with our Lord as he rests in peace.”
