Emerson N Brand

RIGBY, ID, USA U.S. Army SGT, TROOP B, 1ST SQUADRON, 8TH CAVALRY, FORT HOOD, TX BAGHDAD, IRAQ 03/15/2007

Sergeant Emerson N. Brand was killed on March 14, 2006 in Baghdad, Iraq when an improvised explosive device detonated near his unit during combat operations. He was part of 1st Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division based in Fort Hood, Texas. Three other soldiers were also killed.

“Emery” Brand was from Caddo Mills, Texas. Sergeant Emerson was surrounded by a strong and caring community who take seriously the service of their fellow Americans in the armed services. Emerson served with pride and had requested a unit transfer so he could serve another term in Iraq. He spent the last nine years of his life in the Army. Which included a previous deployment was to Kosovo.

Several hundred people came to pay their final tributes to Sergeant Emerson Noah Brand. Emerson ‘s close family included his grandparents of Idaho Falls, his parents, and many friends and Caddo Mills residents who continue to salute him.
