Henry W Bogrette

RICHVILLE, NY, USA U.S. Marines CPL, CLR-27, (CLB 6, 2D MLG FWD, II MEF FWD), 2D MLG, CAMP LEJEUNE, NC IVO CAMP FALLUJAH, IRAQ 03/22/2007

Henry William Bogrette returned to his old high school and spoke to students last fall about the realities of war, Superintendent Ann Adams said. He talked to the kids for a long time, and everyone really got something out of it, Adams said. It was brave of him to talk about those things.

Bogrette, 21, of Richville, NY, was killed March 22 during combat in Anbar province. He was a 2004 high school graduate and was assigned to Camp Lejeune.

Bogrette enjoyed cars, including fixing up his Camaros, and enjoyed playing soccer and fishing. His grandmother, Joan S. Newman, raised him and his brothers after their father was killed in a car accident in 1990.

CPL Beth Grauer wrote that she would always remember Bogrette down in the parking lot at the barracks on weekends, working on his car. I always knew when you would come and go, and was jealous ’cause your exhaust was louder than my truck! she wrote on an online bulletin board.
