Sergeant Kevin L. Shepherd, Jr. graduated from Fowler High School c/o 2003. He joined the United States Army in May 2005, where he served a heroic tour of duty in Iraq, earning a Bronze Stare “V” device (Valor) and a Purple Heart, for saving many lives as a combat medic from August 2006 to October 2007.
He returned to Hawaii with his unit, the 25th Infantry out of Schofield Barracks. On December 21 2007, he married his high school sweetheart Sonia. In May 2008 they moved to Natick, MA where he was stationed as a Lab Tech and Trauma Specialist. In May 2009, Kevin was sent to Walter Reed Army Medical Center for the treatment relating to an injury in Iraq, where he “Fought the Good Fight”, but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
