SSG Michael Harrison Simpson, 30, of Olympia, WA born February 13, 1983 the youngest son of LTC(R) Michael W. and Barbara (McCann) Simpson of San Antonio, TX. SSG Simpson began his military career in 2003. He served a tour in Iraq in 2007 among other combat missions throughout his years of service. He was an exemplary leader, a highly decorated Green Beret and Special Forces soldier.

In 2008 Michael was united in marriage with his beloved wife Krista. They are blessed with two sons. Robert Kolb, Krista’s father, paid tribute to his son-in-law Michael writing: He called her his compass. His true north; and the woman who provided him with his most prized possession. His family.

Michael was the ultimate warrior. He cherished his Country; his Family; and his Faith. For me, Michael was the son I never had and the friend I always wanted. For my wife Shelly and I, Michael was the partner a parent dreams of for their child.

A June 19, 2013 entry in Michael’s guest book on Legacy.com reads: There is no one like Michael. The love that he has for his family and his country will live on. We will remember, respect, and admire his greatness…. Antoinette Casselberry, Bonny Doon, CA

The Warrior A warrior is the protector of his family and those in need. A warrior is the guardian of the ways of honor and courage. A warrior will not put his own desires above what is right. Above all, a warrior is always motivated by his utmost duty. TheWisdomWarrior.com
