My brother, Randy meant so much to me. He was not only my brother but he was also my best friend and hero. Randy was very young when he passed away at the age of 22.

My brother was a very interesting character and he always made the life of the party. He loved country music, bull riding and kids. Randy was a big family guy who would do anything for someone he cared for. Randy was always one to stand up for what he believed in, no matter the consequences.

My brother graduated high school in GA and one year later went into the army. My brother was in the 82nd Airborne and was killed in Iraq on April 23, 2007. That day was the worst day of my life! My best friend and big brother had been taken away.

My brother’s real name is Randell Tony Marshall and about 6 months after his death I got pregnant with my son. My son is named after my brother because I wanted to honor him and give my son a name that meant something to me. My son’s name is Randell Mason Wheeler.

Marshall had been in the Army since 2005 and had been a professional bull rider before joining the service, said Sergeant Josh Meismer, who served with him.

“He was a hard-core paratrooper,” Meismer said.

Marshall is survived by his father, Curtis Marshall; his mother, Teresa Marshall; and his sister, Kayla Marshall, all of Fitzgerald.
