SFC Troy Dell Bargo, age 46 of Fort Hood, Texas, (formerly of Mary Alice, Ky.), passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born May 20, 1965 in Harlan County, KY. Troy believed in the Roman Catholic faith. He entered active-duty service in July 1996 as a multiple launch rocket system automated tactical data systems specialist. He was assigned to the Warrior Transition Battalion at Fort Hood. SFC Bargo deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from April 2003 to August 2003 and from February 2004 to February 2005.

His awards and decorations include two Army Commendation Medals, eight Army Achievement Medals, Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Superior Unit Award, four Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with combat service star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Kosovo Medal, two Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, Army Service Ribbon, three Overseas Service Ribbons, Army Recruitment Badge-Gold with three Sapphire Achievement Stars, and the Driver and Mechanic Badge, and an Expert Rifleman Badge.

SFC Bargo is survived by: his wife of 13 years, Rosemary Bargo; and his two sons Roderick and Roger Bargo of Fort Hood, Texas.
