Ty Aaron Belanger, 23, of Fairfield passed away on Monday, July 5, 2010.

He was born in Waterville on March 26, 1987, the son of Albert “Tiny” and Terri (Stoehr) Belanger. He graduated in 2005 from Lawrence High School and attended Kennebec Valley Community College. He also served in the United States armed forces. Ty had a great sense of humor and enjoyed hanging out with friends and family. He also enjoyed making music and anything to do with electronics.

According to Belanger’s Facebook page, he is listed as a member of the U.S. Army and he says in a biographical summary that, at age 22, he had about two and half years left in the service. His Facebook page says that he graduated from Fairfield’s Lawrence High School in 2005 and that he attended Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield from 2005 to 2007 to pursue business marketing and management.

One of his last Facebook posts, on the Fourth of July, stated: “TRUST AND LIFE.”

Belanger writes of himself that he is a “very honest, trustworthy, spontaneous person” and that “trust is important to me and I don’t play games.”

His Myspace page states that he’s “very athletic and I love competition,” and he used to run track and field and play football. He also dabbled in rap music, according to his Web pages, and lists the famous rapper Lil Wayne as an influence.

He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Donald Belanger and Norman Getchell.

Ty is survived by his parents, Albert “Tiny” and Terri Belanger of Fairfield; great-grandparents, Lillian Leise of Florida, Lucia Mclean and Jean Stoehr, both of Connecticut, and Edward and Leda Rich of Waterville; grandparents, David and Rita Duemmling of Fairfield, Cynthia Getchell of Hallowell, Jeffrey and Mary Stoehr of South Carolina, and Bob and Janet Pelletier of Albion; aunts and uncles, Brian and Lori Belanger of Waterville, James and Brenda Beaulieu of Fairfield, Donald and Clarrisa Belanger of Clinton, Victoria Pelletier of New Hampshire, Walley Belanger and partner, Tammy Monk, of Waterville, Joe Pelletier of Chelsea, Eric Pelletier of Augusta, Ray Dobbins of Sidney, Brian Stoehr and Christine Stoehr, both of Connecticut, Michelle McKeage of Windham, Shannon Grip of Waterville, and Jennifer Parker of Hallowell; many great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
