SSG Adam Vincent Lamberson, age 32, was born December 21, 1981 in Minneapolis, MN to Robert and Marianne Lamberson. He passed away unexpectedly on July 9, 2014 at Ft. Benning, Columbus, GA.
Adam served with the 175th RTI, based at Camp Ripley, MN. He was currently serving with 1st Battalion 194th Armor Regiment. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and again in support of Operation New Dawn.
He is survived by his mother, Marianne “Mary” Lamberson; father, Robert Lamberson, Sr. (Cindy); brothers and sisters, Jennifer Lamberson, Bobby Lamberson, Ryan (Katy) Lamberson, Jessica Blood, Lee (Robin) Lamberson, Jeff (Alyse) Lamberson, Rheanna Demarais and Jason Lamberson; 15 nieces and nephews, along with many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Adam will be missed by those who love him every day. We Love You Adam.
SSG Lamberson enlisted in the Minnesota Army National Guard on 24 May 2005 as an Infantryman with the 2nd/135th Infantry Battalion in St Paul, MN. From October to early 2011, SSG Lamberson served as a Phase 1 Air Assault Instructor with Bravo Company, Warrior Training Center. During his tenure he trained thousands of Air Assault Students in Air Mobile Operations. SSG Lamberson also served in deployments in Iraq and Kuwait. SSG Lamberson has a Bachelors of Science and Bachelors of Arts degrees from Metropolitan State University in Minnesota.
His awards include the Army Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Meritorious Unit Citation, the Iraq Campaign Medal with three Stars, the Global War on Terrorism Service and Expeditionary Medals, the Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Armed Forces Reserved Medal with M Devices, the Army Reserved Component Overseas Training Ribbon, the National Defense Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon and the Combat Action Badge. SSG Lamberson is also a graduate of the Army Airborne, Air Assault, Rappel Master, and Pathfinder Schools.
Adam was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He cared deeply about his family and friends. Adam was loyal and quick to forgive those he loved.
