At age 16 Chad moved with his family to Moreland,Georgia.

He attended Newman High School and took construction classes at Central Education Center. Chad enlisted in the U.S. Army in October, 2008. He was assigned to the 101st Airborne at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. Coleman was a Cavalry Scout and was deployed to Paktiya Province, Afghanistan.

Chad loved his dogs Hunter and Brownie and his cat Borden.

A family friend wrote in the Legacy guest book:

Just knowing that the flag at the Wausau (Wisconsin) Post Office was proudly lowered in Chad’s honor by myself with the utmost respect and appreciation for his patriotism. He will always be in our hearts. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Joey, Kay, Bryce and Katie Jo Fassbender
