Chad L. Williams

LITTLE ROCK, MS, U.S.A. U.S. ARMY SGT, 2ND SQDN, 3RD CAVALRY REGIMENT, FORT HOOD, TX 06/29/2012, COPPERAS COVE, TX, U.S.A.

SGT Chad Lane Williams, 28, died from an apparent gunshot wound on June 29, 2012. His home of record is Little Rock, MS. SGT Williams entered active duty service in October 2004 as a combat engineer. He arrived at Fort Hood in September 2009.

SGT Williams deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from January 2005 to January 2006, August 2006 to November 2006 and April 2008 to May 2009. SGT Chad Williams had survived four deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and returned as the kind of battle-tested non commissioned officer that Army officials call the backbone of the modern military force.

“All of the soldiers respected him. He was no excuses, always working,” explained SFC Ermelindo Malave. “I would feel safe going with him anywhere.”

He is survived by his wife, 2sons, 2 daughters, his mother of Little Rock, MS, sibling and numerous nieces and nephews.

SGT William earned many awards and decorations for his service to his country.
