U.S. Army

PFC, CO B, 1ST BN, 27TH IN REGT, 2D STRYKER AAB, SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, HI

He was born on Nov. 17, 1987, in Columbia, S.C. to James Mark and Susan Uhls McClamrock. He was a graduate of South Iredell High School. He married his bride of two years, Shannah Marie Dartt McClamrock in 2008. Jamie was in the U.S. Army with the 25th Infantry Division stationed out of Hawaii and serving in Iraq. He was a member of A.R.P. Church in Concord.

James – He is our 2nd son, and has always acted like a firstborn. He went into the Army because he felt it was his calling – from God. He always thought he would die young but we always tried to dismiss it. He had been married for the past 2 years and he loved his wife more than life. He was #2 our of 6 and was a wonderful brother. He played varsity soccer and football – he was the KICKER for the football team.

He had a passion for life and for people. His father is a minister and he learned to love people at a young age. He was the one who was compassionate around those who were the underdogs – he made them feel special. He found the best in people and made them shine.

James was killed when an Iraqi insurgent came into the compound and started spraying bullets. His injury killed him instantly – he was shot thru the neck and ended up with 7 bullet wounds. They said he died at peace and had a smile on his face. We believe that because we feel that he saw God as he was dying…no doubt here. He was ready to meet his maker and he is in heaven as I write this.
