Dan was the oldest son of Vietnamese immigrants from Sugar Land in the great state of Texas. His family said Dan wanted to serve his country, and after graduating high school, he attended the University of Houston before enlisting in 2004. He rose to the rank of Corporal.
Dan loved children, and requested his family send him pounds and pounds of candy so that he could play with the children and give them candy. He was a great listener, and always made people smile even through hard times with his goofy sense of humor. His brothers remembered him as the greatest brother any person could have. He was also an avid sports enthusiast.
Dan-an Army medic-had recently become engaged to his sweetheart who was in the Air Force when he was home for Easter in 2007, shortly before his death. Danny was killed by small arms fire in Tahrir, Iraq in May 2007.
Danny’s fellow soldiers best expressed the sentiments felt by all that knew him: Danny go in peace. Be with God.
