Jeffery S Mersman

Jeff was born May 11, 1984, in Paola, Kansas, to Robert Augustine and Mary Darline (Wisdom) Mersman. He attended kindergarten and first grade in Parker, Kansas. From second grade through his sophomore year of high school, he attended Central Heights School. His last two years of high school were at Prairie View High School. He graduated in 2002. Mersman was so eager to serve his country that he graduated a semester early from Prairie View High School.


Jeff served his country with the United States Army.


While stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Jeff met Narcissa “Lynn” Sanchez. They were married on December 4, 2004, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Jeff was very active with family and community activities while growing up and he knew no stranger. Jeff let his family know at an early age that he planned to serve his country by joining the Army. When not busy helping family and friends, Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing and mud trucking. He was a member of the VFW in Garnett.


He was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Lane, Kansas.He is survived by his wife Narcissa “Lynn” of Italy; his father Robert Mersman of Gardner; his mother and stepfather Mary Darline and Chris Ritch; his paternal grandmother Carol Jane Mersman; his maternal grandparents Bonnie McMechan and Raymond Poage; his maternal great grandmother Evelyn Purdy; a stepson, David, Jr.; three stepdaughters, Keani, Davilyn, and Desiree; two brothers, John Michael Mersman and Eric Leigh Mersman; one stepbrother, Zachary Elish Ritch; three sisters, Shannon Renee Mersman and Kayla Nichole Ritch, Bobbie Lee Miller, and other relatives and friends.
